The benefits of feeding linseed to horses have been appreciated for years. But it has not always been the most practical feed due to a lengthy preparation time of boiling before use. New technology now allows us to feed straight from the bucket.

What?

Linseed Conditioner is the ORIGINAL and FIRST fully micronized linseed.

Science Supplements Linseed Conditioner is a pure Linseed product, not to be confused with other products on the market which may only contain as little as 33% linseed because they are mixed with cheaper sources of oil. Linseed Conditioner has been micronised (cooked) and comes as a palatable meal ready to feed. Linseed Conditioner is high in oil and very low in starch thus providing a ‘safer’ energy source compared to cereal feeds.

Why?

Linseed Conditioner maintains healthy skin condition and produces a show ring shine effortlessly. This is due to the high concentration of omega 3 fatty acids found in linseed oil, unlike that of soya or corn oil. Scientific Research has reported the benefits of linseed for horses and the high level of omega 3 fatty acids helps to maintain skin health. Ordinary linseed is low in calcium and has an unfavourable calcium to phosphorus ratio. Linseed Conditioner has been fortified with calcium to redress this balance helping to maintain normal skeletal, nerve and muscle function. Scientific Research has proven that horses require extra vitamin E when fed diets supplemented with oil. Linseed Conditioner has been fortified with generous levels of vitamin E to satisfy this increased requirement.

Instructions for use and feeding guide Level 150ml (80g) scoops per day

For weight gain & condition, for stamina or as an alternative to cereals*

Pony – approximately 250kg 5
Horse – approximately 500kg 10
Large Horse – over 750kg 15

For skin condition or to maintain body condition after weight gain

Pony – approximately 250kg 3
Horse – approximately 500kg 5
Large Horse – over 750kg 8

This linseed product is cooked and ready to feed. Detailed feeding guides for different sizes of horses and for weight gain, condition, skin condition or for horses with problems requiring a low starch intake (e.g. laminitis, PSSM, tying-up, etc) are available on our website. As with any change in feeding, introduce slowly over at least 5-7 days.
*cereal portion must be reduced as Linseed Conditioner is introduced

Mix thoroughly with feed and split between meals where possible.
