Our mission is what drives us to provide horse owners with a trustworthy range of evidence based products and making these products readily available across Ireland.

We only support products we believe in, are developed by people we know using a scientific and evidence lead approach. The health and wellbeing of all equines is at the core of our mission, ultimately enabling horses to realise their full potential.

We are the official distributor of ‘Science Supplements’ throughout Ireland and also the Northern Ireland agent for ‘Equilume’.

The SVS Equine Team

Timothy Smith established SVS Equine in 2020. Timothy is a graduate of both CAFRE (College of Agriculture Food and Rural Enterprise) and Queen’s University, Belfast. Prior to establishing SVS Equine, he worked in both the veterinary and human pharmaceutical industries.

He is married to Dr. Esther Skelly-Smith MRCVS, who is practice principal of the award winning ‘Shanaghan Veterinary Services’ which is Ireland’s first integrated equine veterinary referral service and Timothy regularly assists in the running of the practice.

Timothy has significant equine experience through the co-management of ‘Shanaghan Horses’ which specialises in the breeding of Irish Sport Horses and Irish Draughts. Along with this experience and his scientific background he recognised the need for a platform which brought together both researched and scientifically based equine solutions. 

He is also a semi-professional nature and landscape photographer with ‘Shanaghan Photography’ and also manages a sheep farm part time.
